Hello,

My name is Leanne Larson. I am an Artist & Live Event Painter based out of Central Minnesota.  

I grew up in the beautiful coastal Manning Valley Region in NSW, Australia.

After Highschool, I took on an Au Pair (Live in Nanny) position in upstate New York.

This journey is where I met my husband Jerry, who was traveling and working on the East coast.   A few years later, we were married and found ourselves settling down Garfield, MN. Now three Kids later, I am living my best life being creative and capturing your special moments on canvas.

I love the outdoors, camping, traveling and beach trips. Our summers here in MN are short so I find myself outside as much as possible. We remodeled an old one-room Schoolhouse, have 3 cats, an Australian Shepherd and backyard chickens. 

 

 My very first Live Wedding Painting happened spontaneously in the Fall of 2011.  It was our friend's wedding and Instead of a gift, I grabbed my paint box,  easel, a canvas, and headed up to a friend's wedding. During the reception, I began by covering the whole canvas in a beautiful deep purple similar to the bridal party dresses. By the end of the night I had captured the head table and wedding bouquet! There was no doubt I was in my element!  Since that day, I have thrived painting live at many Wedding ceremonies, receptions, Parties & Fundraisers all throughout the US, Australia, Mexico and the USVI and an invite to Paris, France for a wedding but sadly, I was already booked! 

        My Style has evolved into a soft, romantic & impressionistic approach. I freely capture the energy and mood of each event by utilizing color, lights with fast painting techniques. I love to share my creative process as I connect with spectators and guests. By the end of each event, I will have a finished masterpiece to be cherished forever.

 

        In addition to Painting Live at Weddings, I stay busy with creating commissioned portraits, landscapes, wedding bouquets & teaching painting classes & illustrating books

       When time permits, I continue to build my ongoing series I call Recollections. Recollections is a visual biography about my own experiences and feelings of my past and how I relate them in the present.  My work is collected in both public and private collections in Arizona, Australia, throughout the Midwest and in two public collections at the University of Minnesota, Morris. 

I hope to one day have the honor to capture your special day or moment on canvas in which you will cherish for years to come.
